Before taking the drastic and more permanent solution of undergoing surgery, many people often consider the option of a non-surgical facelift to enhance and rejuvenate their looks. This is usually a cost effective way to reduce lines and wrinkles and make the face look younger. With a non surgical face lifting treatment, your recovery time will be much shorter, some requiring no time at all, with the added bonus of saving money. Some people even chose a natural face lift which is an even less drastic method for youthful looks.

Cost is often a factor in deciding which method to choose, so make sure that you get all the facts before going ahead. Surgery is the most expensive at around 3000/$6000, this doesn’t include the costs you may have after the operation. Recovery time can be quite long as well but the results do last a long time. With non-surgical face lifting, there is little or no recovery time but you will normally have to go for repeat treatments. Any body who is troubled with minor skin blemishes may find that some methods will be able to diminish them. Here are the different methods available so you can judge for yourself which may be right for you.

With many millions of men and women worldwide having Botox injections, it is safe to say that this is the most popular method of non-surgical face lift. It is quick and easy, so much so you can get a treatment in your lunch hour. It is injected into the muscles of the face which then relax and are paralysed so that they cannot scrunch up the skin and make the wrinkles appear. Each shot costs around 100/$200 and you will need to find out how many shots you need. The effect will last between 3 to 6 months, depending on the individual and any swelling should go down in an hour or two. Anybody can get them except for those undergoing a course of anti-biotics. You will have to find out how long you have to wait after finishing your medication.

Almost as popular is the Collagen injections which are also know as fillers. Collagen is a natural part of the skin but there are other fillers available, some natural some synthetic. Your cosmetic surgeon will help you pick the one that most suits your needs. This is injected under the skin which then smoothes out your wrinkles. Some have it injected into their lips for that full pouting look. Although there will be some initial redness and puffiness, it will soon subside, leaving a smooth young looking skin. The costs will depend on the type of product you use and the number of injections required. Over time, the fillers will get absorbed back into the body so you will have to repeat the procedure at least every six months.

Another form of non-surgical face lifting is the skin resurfacing technique which includes laser treatment, microdermabrasion, chemical peel and dermabrasion, although some more radical forms of dermabrasion is considered to be a surgical operation. These methods all rely on the removal of the surface layers of the skin to reduce the appearance of aging. They work well with light wrinkles and lines but not with deep ones which can only be affected with the full dermabrasion which usually requires a full anaesthetic. The costs are between 75/$150 to over 1000/$2000, depending on the treatment but the results should last for a year or so.

There are now a huge selection of face lifting creams on the market, all claiming to reduce the signs of aging. They have a variety of different ingredients so it is just a matter of finding the one that works best for your particular skin type. Using these after any other face lifting procedure may well have a beneficial effect that will prolong the life of the therapy.

A non-surgical face lift method that is often overlooked is a facial exercise regime. People often think it is hard work and they cannot be bothered but it is often the cheapest and most long term solution for a natural face lift. After the initial exercises to get the muscles toned up, you need only a couple of minutes per day to keep things going, and this you can do as you apply your face cream. It is as simple as that. It can also prolong any other type of face lift method you may have already used.

Finally, if you do wish to have use some of the non-surgical face lifts that use injections or chemicals, always talk it over with your doctor first. When looking for a cosmetic surgery, always choose one that is a member of an association that is acknowledged by the local authority or medical profession. That way you will have some protection in the unlikely event of things going wrong. The personal recommendation is valuable as at least you know somebody who has been there, had the treatment and is a satisfied customer.
