« Austin Air Purifier : Key Facts About Austin Air Purifiers   Physical Specifications Of Wheelchair Ramps »

by Ray Lam

With electrostatic air purifiers, extremely small particulates (.01 - 1 micron) can be filtered out. The smallest particulates a Hepa filter can filter out is .3 microns. This means that for every 10,000 particles which pass through a filter, the electrostatic filter lets 1 (or less) escape and the Hepa filter may let 3 escape. We compare electrostatic purification with Hepa filtration because Hepa filters are considered to be the second best form of filtration. Hepa filtration is used primarily to remove dust, pollen, mold spores. In addition, electrostatic filtration goes a step further by removing bacteria, viruses, cigarette smoke, and chemical fumes.

To counter these pollutants in the home or at work there are various air purifying machines that are available to filter the air. One such machine is an electrostatic air purifier. There are many advantages to using an electrostatic air purifier in the home. Some of those advantages include their silent operation, no filters to clean and thorough cleansing of the air.

Hepa and electrostatic air purification are both effective. Hepa has one distinct advantage in that it doesn’t produce ozone. Too much ozone is not good to breath and some electrostatic air purifiers have been know to produce excess ozone. All things considered, a hybrid electrostatic (Hepa and electrostatic combined) is a prefered air purification method.

Unlike standard air purifiers, electrostatic air purifiers do not rely on standard filtration methods. Electrostatic air purifiers are designed to work without the use of messy filters that must be changed on a regular basis. Electrostatic air purifiers instead use steel rods to capture the undesirable particles in the air; this means that the rods must be cleaned. However, this is more environmentally friendly since there is nothing to throw away. Maintenance is as simple as a quick rinse to have your electrostatic air purifier working at full capacity again.

Many people equate clean air with a clean home. They desire to have the cleanest home possible, which includes clean, fresh air. The results of using an electrostatic air purifier is the cleanest possible air you can provide in your home, in the quietest manner possible.
