Currently there is no known cure for arthritis! Researchers however, are not relenting in their efforts to find the causes and solutions to one of the deadly diseases in the world. Arthritis is a disease that affects joints of the body. There are many factors associated with arthritis and some of them are so destructive that they can cripple you.
Osteo arthritis is a degenerative disease that causes the cartilage in joints to shrink or totally disappear. It is often labelled the wear and tear disease and is typically considered an age related problem. However, some forms of osteo arthritis are caused by an injury or damage to the joint and arthritis thus arthritis cures are being sought by patients of all ages. As the disease progresses, the associated pain increases and mobility in the affected joint becomes more limited.
You can go for painkilling injections that can help alleviate or reduce the pain that you have. Some of these injections can last for weeks or months. Also, there are drugs that you can take that can treat the disease. There are many arthritis products in the market. But you need to see a physician before using any particular drug.
Many prescription products on the market have been known to cause some unpleasant side effects or at least come with long lists of potential side effects. For this reason some patients are reluctant to take advantage of these arthritis treatments. Natural products such as Glucosamine and chrondroitin have been shown to reduce the pain of arthritis as well as restore joint mobility. Products containing these ingredients are sometimes proclaimed as arthritis cures. In fact they are simply relieving the symptoms of the condition.
There are some drugs that can modify the disease process of Rheumatic fever but do not offer a cure for arthritis. But once arthritis is there, we have to stick to the basic principle of pain management. The first thing to treat arthritis is lifestyle modification. Arthritic joints become weak and can not bear the weight that it was used to. So, reduction of weight is the first target area. Reduction of weight reduces the load in the joint and improves its function.
Data returned from controlled studies has not shown that these two ingredients when taken in combination have any added benefit over individual use. Another product, methylsulfonylmethane, MSM, is also being added to the list of arthritis cures, but limited research on its effectiveness has not proven for it to be effective.
Sometimes, cold compress may produce better analgesia (relieve of pain) than application of heat. That again depends upon the disease profile. Often, the patients suffering from arthritis become so crippled by pain, they tend to avoid the directions given by the doctor.
