Heal cold sores - once difficult, but now very easy. By the time you are done reading this article, you will know how to quickly heal cold sores.

For you to heal cold sores most effectively, you will need to use at least one of these two ways. Use them together and heal cold sores even faster.

Hey, it is well know that your body is able to heal cold sores without your help. This is a long process, however, often taking as long as four weeks. Why put up with the pain and embarrassment any longer than you have to?

If you want to heal cold sores as quickly as possible, it is important to understand the underlying cause of the outbreak. Perhaps you know, but let us touch on it briefly for those that do not.

The herpes simplex virus is the culprit. It cannot create new virus by itself. It must use a body cell. It enters that cell and forces it to create the virus. Once the cell is full to capacity, it ruptures open to release the new virus particles.

At the beginning, you will notice a lot of swelling as the cells fill up with virus particles. The cells then burst open - causing another ugly sore. The herpes virus only causes these sores on the surface of your skin.

There are only two ways to heal cold sores. Here they are.

1. HEAL COLD SORES BY USING THE INTERNAL TREATMENT APPROACH.

Your first step, if you experience several cold sore breakouts each year, is to take a good multi-vitamin daily.

Without a doubt, this is the most important first step for fast healing and defending yourself from future outbreaks. A good multi-vitamin will strengthen your immunity against this parasite virus - and all other viruses also.

Also, it would be very helpful to take some large doses of lysine. If you flood your system with additional lysine, it can stop this virus in its tracks.

Many folks use lysine capsules for convenience, but high lysine foods will help too. During a cold sore event, 2000 to 5000 milligrams of lysine per day is safe and quite effective.

It is simple. To heal cold sores fast, you must stop the virus from reproducing and send it back to the latent state.

If you suffer from re-occurring outbreaks, quite likely you are starving from calcium deficiency. Your body needs calcium to keep your body alkaline and highly oxygenated. Viruses cannot operate in a high alkaline body.

The normal recommended calcium intake for everyone is 1000 milligrams per day. That should already be in your multi-vitamin. It would be wise to take additional calcium - up to about 2000 milligrams more.

2. EXTERNAL REMEDIES WORK WELL TO HEAL COLD SORES.

The most common way to heal cold sores is with a good topical cold sore treatment. This can be a salve, ointment, oil or lotion. The direct approach produces the fastest results, by far.

Ointments that contain zinc, either in the form of sulfate or gluconate, work very well when applied to the sore. Watch out for other forms of zinc, such as zinc oxide, as they do not absorb readily.

Essential oils, such as garlic or olive oil, are great cold sore treatments. They will stop any virus in its tracks when placed directly on the infected area. Faster healing will then be the result.

Once in the healing stage, the level of your health will determine how fast your body will heal cold sores. You can speed it along with the use of a warm, damp tea bag - along with the oils mentioned previously.

Cleaning the outbreak regularly with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol is essential to prevent spreading the infection or re-occurrence of the same sore. It also prevents the chance of bacterial infection.

Your body can heal cold sores without your help. But, if you want to get rid of them quickly, then help your body along with the cold sore treatment options in this article. They will cut the duration of the sore by an honest third.

Imagine eliminating the embarrassing and painful sore in less time than ever before. Plus, you can now reduce the number of future outbreaks.

You will find using both internal and external remedies, in combination, will provide you the highest level of success when you want to aggressively heal cold sores.
