Redwood City, CA January 22 2004–Inventop, a leader in the proximity messaging space, today announced ProximityMail for Windows Mobile Smartphone device release scheduled for Q1 2004. “We are pleased to announced this upcoming release in Q1,” said Virginie Glaenzer, Chief Executive Officer ” We believe that the Cellphone market is now more mature on integrating Bluetooth as a standard component. Future ProximityMail releases will include Symbian OS compatibility. ” Last fall, devices carrying Bluetooth technology began shipping at a rate of 1 million a week, which is impressive and seven out of 10 of those devices are cell phones. In 2003, the Zelos Group predicts that about 2.2 million Bluetooth-equipped mobile handsets will be shipped, about 2.8 percent of all handsets sold. The Zelos Group also found that the total installed base of Bluetooth handsets will represent 1.4 percent of all mobile subscribers. In 2004, an estimated 7.8 million Bluetooth-enabled handsets will ship, or 9.4 percent of the total, and the installed base will represent 5.1 percent of all mobile subscribers.

Hershey, PA January 7, 2004 — Kelly Dowhower Karpa, PhD, RPh, an assistant professor at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, has written a book entitled Bacteria for Breakfast: Probiotics for Good Health. Probiotics are “healthy” bacteria for the digestive tract, similar to the “live and active cultures” found in yogurt. Karpa’s interest in this area began two years ago when her then-two-year-old son was diagnosed with a life-threatening bacterial infection in his gastrointestinal tract. His illness persisted despite nine months of antibiotic therapy. Karpa refused to accept defeat when doctors told her there was nothing more that they could do for her son. Instead she began searching the medical literature for a cure.
