« Food Allergies, What are they?   Face Lift Recovery: Reminders for a Quicker Recovery »

Should you choose a whole house air purifier or a portable one room air purifier? Many people have come to the realization that just because their house and the air in it looks clean, doesn’t necessarily mean it is. Small particles including pollen and dust can float in on the air and onto you furniture, or worse into your lungs. This can trigger and possibly even cause a range of conditions from allergies to asthma.

No one should suffer, so your doctor suggested that you buy an air purifier as a back-up to your current medication. Those mold, pet fluff and pollen spores are doing you in. Your allergies are bad enough when outside, but inside you really need a break from the common symptoms. You have decided to take your doctor’s advice to heart and are going to purchase an air purifier. There is a question of the price but, more importantly, you do not know what to search for.

One important thing to consider is the amount of ozone an air purifier produces as too much ozone can irritate the lungs - an air purifier that produces less than 50 parts per billion ozone is plenty safe enough. Of course you don’t get this issue with the HEPA system as it’s a filter rather than a purifier, which is why they are one of the most popular types of air cleaner.

The filter systems in a home air purifier are one of the most, if not the most, important factor to consider. Some filters can be quite expensive. You should check to make sure the cost to maintain your home air purifier is not out of reason. There are plenty of good systems on the market today that will not cost you an arm and a leg to operate.

When choosing a good air purifier you will want one that has a lighted filter change indicator along with a multi-speed fan control. Having features such as these in an air purifier, you get the most health benefits. By knowing when the filters need cleaning you will keep the efficiency of the air purifier performing at its peak, therefore keeping more allergens out of the air. The multi-speed fan control will allow you to control the volume of air being purified.
